Adventure to the bug museum

投稿日時: 2019/10/07 m1

This weekend I woke up bright and early to take a train to Tsurugi! My mission was an unusual one. I was going to Tsurugi to visit the Ishikawa Insect Museum (石川県ふれあい昆虫館). I enjoy researching insects and I was told that the Insect Museum had a lot of interesting types.

When I arrived in Tsurugi, the Hourai Festival was happening! As I hiked up to the museum, Mikoshi and chanting surrounded me. It was a very exciting way to hike.

The museum had thousands of live and pinned insects from all over the world. Some of the beetles were as small as a pencil point, but some were bigger than my hand. I loved the stag beetles! Ishikawa insects were also showcased.

One of my favorite parts of the museum was the Butterfly Garden. Over 1,000 butterflies flutter around you (and on you) as you walk through the garden grounds. It was very beautiful.

Please visit the Ishikawa Insect Museum. It is very informative and fun.
